Maria Luiza is a professional whose career has been dedicated to promoting physical activity as a key element for well-being, inclusion, and quality of life. With a deep commitment to values such as autonomy, diversity, learning, and community engagement, she has led numerous impactful projects and international initiatives aimed at encouraging active lifestyles and social transformation.

For over four decades, Maria Luiza served as the Regional Sports Manager at Sesc São Paulo, Brazilian  prominent institutions for culture and social development. In this role, she was responsible for the strategic planning and execution of sports and physical activity programs, always focusing on accessibility, inclusion, and the power of movement as a driver of social change.

She has taken on leading roles in global campaigns such as Challenge Day and Move Week, World leisure Day, mobilizing communities across Latin America to embrace more active, healthier lifestyles. As a recognized expert in her field, she is frequently invited to speak at  national and international events, sharing insights on the intersection of sports, leisure, and citizenship.

Currently, she is the Vice President of the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) and chairs its operations in Latin America. Additionally, she serves as a board member of the World Leisure Organization and ID Brazil, contributing to the governance of iconic institutions like the Football Museum and the Museum of the Portuguese Language.

She has also played a key role in organizing landmark events such as the World Leisure Congress (2018), the Move Congress (2012), and the Latin America Move Congress (2022). Furthermore, she is an active member of strategic working groups in the áreas of Sports and leisure advocacy and sports for all.

Maria Luiza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of São Paulo, an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral, and postgraduate studies from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. She has also completed specialized training in Parks and Recreation Management at the Disney Institute, reinforcing her comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to leisure and physical activity.
