Human Rights and Leisure: the WLO Charter for Leisure
WLO is now organizing the first World Leisure Organization Charter for Leisure 2020 presentation webinar and is inviting academics, professionals, public and private bodies in the leisure field to join us in this 90 minute presentation.
It is a great pleasure for WLO to present the World Leisure Organization Charter for Leisure 2020. This is the third revision of the Charter, which was first published 50 years ago, and it encompasses important updates and changes in line with emerging social and global issues.
In 1948, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognised the right of all to enjoy leisure time and to freely participate in the cultural life of the community. The WLO Charter for Leisure outlines the implications of this historic declaration for: governments at national, regional/provincial and local levels; commercial organizations; education institutions; professional bodies; non-government organizations; and individual citizens.
