The World Leisure Organization’s Special Interest Group (SIG) on Leisure Management will host a webinar exploring how evaluation approaches can strengthen decision-making and demonstrate the impact of leisure programs, services, and experiences. The session will address why evaluation has become a critical yet challenging aspect of leisure management, particularly as organizations increasingly seek evidence-informed approaches.
The webinar will feature Dr. John Tower (Victoria University) and Leonardo Caliz (Sesc São Paulo) combining theoretical perspectives with applied case studies from leisure and sport initiatives in Brazil. Both speakers will address evaluation frameworks, practical approaches, and key challenges for evidence-informed practice in leisure management.
By bringing together academic and practitioner perspectives, the session aims to strengthen dialogue between research and practice and explore how evaluation can enhance the effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of leisure organizations and programs.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday 11 August 2026 (with an additional session on 12 August across different time zones) via Zoom, with a recording available for those unable to attend live.
