Description:


With an area of thirty thousand square meters, this special folk exhibition will be located in the Venetian Canal district of the Expo Garden.  One hundred cities will be invited to establish individual display booths in the Garden and exhibit their unique leisure life-styles.   A one hundred square meter exhibit area will be provided for free by the Organizing Committee.  During the 2006 World Leisure Exposition, those folk and leisure streets will display to the public the unique features of these cities and after the Expo has concluded serve the same purposes for later visitors.

     


One day during the period of the Expo will be designated as "City Day" for each participating city.  On this day, there will be flag-raising ceremonies, tourism promotion, leisure exhibitions and cultural exchanges.  They will all provide opportunities for the participating cities to display their unique customs, landscapes, architecture and culture.

Exhibition programs:
  1. City image display and the promotion of its tourism and leisure resources;
  2. The making, display and sale of its special arts and crafts, and other handicrafts;
  3. Gourmet foods;
  4. Art Performances, such as local songs and dances.

Your City: Applying to be a part of the 100 Cities Exhibition

There is still time to apply apply for space in the 100 Cities Exhibition. Some of the details are given below, more are available on the World Leisure EXPO web site.

Services Provided for the Exhibiting City or Region

  1. The Company will provide each city free of charge with an exhibition place of one hundred (100) square metres.

  2. During the Exhibition, the Company shall offer a free accommodation for not more than three (3) persons of the exhibiting city, excluding the bedding, water and electricity charges.

  3. The Company will set up special exhibition service system and reception centre to function in the following aspects:
    • To offer the exhibiting cities free of charge the accommodation information about Expo Garden hotel guest rooms or the restaurant flats;
    • To offer food services for the staff members of the exhibiting cities;
    • To offer preferential services to the exhibiting cities’ visitors to the Expo;
    • To offer exhibiting cities the necessary services after their booking the exhibition booth.

  4. The Company will be responsible for the maintenance of the exhibiting city’s city ?ag raised for three (3) years in the central area of the Expo Garden.

  5. The Company will provide the exhibiting city with a name list of exhibition service companies. The exhibiting city could choose its own exhibition service company, as well as entrusting the Company for the management. An agreement on the content will be reached additionally.

  6. The Expo Committee will invite the mayor or representative of the exhibiting city to attend the high level conferences, such as the Ninth World Leisure Congress.

  7. The Expo Committee will cooperate with the exhibiting city in the promotion activities in the city name recognition and tourism resources.

  8. The Executive Committee of the Expo will assist the exhibiting city with of?cial procedures such as customs, inspection, quarantine and business management etc.

  9. To select a leisure envoy for the exhibiting city, representing the city’s image. The envoy will be offered services, such as attending the opening ceremony of the Expo for free.


Exhibiting Options

Although strong suuport is provided, some exhibitors may not wish to maintain an active presence for the full 6-month period.  To provide some flexibility, note the following available options:

1. Management Agent:   Except during its City Week, each participating city may commission the Song Cheng Group to manage its exhibition booth. The Song Cheng Group will assist in soliciting workers to maintain the booth on daily basis. They will work 8 hours per day and be paid 200 USD per month as subsidiary by the participating city;

2. Electronic Exhibition:   Except during its City Week each participating city can display by means of electronic devices. No resident operating staff will be needed. The Song Cheng Group can assist in management and the participating city will pay 100 USD per month as maintenance fee.

3. Serial Exhibition:   Within their national exhibits countries may organize several cities and enterprises into a series of exhibitions over the six-month course of the Expo.

4. Exhibition by Proxy:   Upon obtaining the authorization of a participating city an enterprise of that city or country may represent that city in the Expo and combine this proxy exhibition with promotion of its products.

5. Short-term Exhibit:   The Executive Committee has recommended participation in the important program, the "Leisure Industry Exposition". Details may be obtained for the Office of the Expo Executive Committee at:  office@wl-expo.com

 

Application Procedures

  1. Any exhibitor desiring to exhibit must file a written application to the Organizing Committee to confirm.

  2. After the Committee receives the confirmation from the exhibitor, both parties sign the Contract.

  3. After the confirmation, the exhibitor must appoint a representative to be in charge of the affairs of the exhibitions.

  4. The Company guarantees to offer the overall plan of the exhibition hall within one month after the signing of the Contract, and the location of the exhibiting booth shall be decided through negotiations within twenty (20) days after the offering of the overall plan.

  5. After the decision, the exhibiting city will sign the Contract with the Company. Enclosed, you will find the contract sample.

  6. Before July 1st, 2005, the layout designing, fitting-up and the City Day activity plan should be supplied to the Company in details. The layout plan should include following contents:
    •    The name of the city booth and the date of the City Day;
    •    Detailed instructions on the theme expression and elaborations on the layout and ?tting-up plan;
    •    Accessory activity plans;
    •    Informing the Companyof their arrangements and plans during the Expo, such as the number of people    accommodated, their names, accommodation requirements, in writing before January 22nd, 2006.

  7. If the exhibition contains something commercial, an application should be filed to the Company before July 1st 2005, with detailed marking on the exhibition map about the concrete commercial content, location, floor space, etc. It will be carried out after the Company’s confirmation.

  8.      
    The Company will give the exhibition booth to the exhibiting cities for exhibition layout before January 22nd, 2006. The exhibiting cities should complete the layout before March 31st, 2006. The checking period is between April 1st and April 15th, and the trial period is between April 16th and April 20th. It will be closed on April 21st, and it will open on April 22nd.

  9. The plan will be regarded as the appendix of the Contract, and will not be changed indescriminantly.


About Removing the Exhibition
  1. After the Expo, the Company will possess the heritage of the exhibition.

  2. Except the operating equipment and commodities, the Company will provide a free service of removing the decorations of the exhibitions for the exhibiting city.

  3. If the exhibiting city wishes to continue its presence beyond EXPO, an additional agreement should be reached with the Company before September 22nd, 2006.


Exhibiton Expenses

Transport Charge:
It includes the charge from the commodity’s original place to the exhibition place, as well as the charge from the exhibition to the post-Expo destination.

Rental Expense:

  1. Extra area beyond the provided free area. The extra area will be charged at the price of two to three (2-3) RMB yuan per day per square metre, depending on the location of the exhibition booth.
  2. Outdoor exhibition area. It will be charged at the price of one to three (1-3) RMB yuan per day per square metre, depending on the location of the exhibition place.
  3. Aquatic exhibition area. It will be charged at the price of one to three (1-3) RMB yuan per day per square metre, depending on the location of the exhibition place.

Fiting-Up Expense:
Indoor decoration and layout expense. Exhibiting citys need to settle expense accounts with the units in charge of construction.

Common Expense:
Electricity, water, natural gas, telecommunication, post, cleaning,etc.  According to each exhibiting city’s consumption.  For detailed information, please refer to Annex 1: Water, Electricity, Gas, Standards in Hangzhou (Xiaoshan District) available on the expo web site.

Property Management:
It will be charged at the price of five (5) RMB yuan per square metre per month.
